Meaningful Opportunities For Youth Experiencing Homelessness

Youth Homelessness Demonstration Project (YHDP) staff support a variety of housing programs, including rapid rehousing, permanent supportive housing, transitional housing, and host homes. We aim to provide quality and meaningful opportunities for youth that give them a sense of pride and accomplishment, while honoring them.

How do I qualify for the YHDP program?
Any youth experiencing homelessness or are within imminent risk of homelessness within the next 14 days qualifies. Including being unsheltered, “couch surfing”, and/or escaping domestic violence.
What ages are served through the YHDP program?

Youth and young adults through age 24.

What services are available through the YHDP program?

Housing assessments, case management, transportation assistance, medical or mental health support, substance abuse referrals, material items (groceries, clothing, hygiene, etc.).

What areas are served by the YHDP program?

Any county within the balance of state continuum of care (see service area map).

Do I have to currently be, or have been, in foster care to be eligible for the YHDP program services?

No. Any youth that meets the qualifications mentioned in the previous question would be eligible.
