Comprehensive Emergency Family Care Services
Children entering foster care in emergency circumstances have often experienced significant abuse, neglect, and separation from their friends and family. Research shows that children placed with their extended family have better long-term outcomes. A statewide shortage of foster homes has led to overcrowding and difficulty finding suitable placement for children. The inability to match children with families providing stability significantly increases the trauma children entering foster care experience.
Comprehensive Emergency Family Care is an intensive, short-term intervention that aims to reduce the amount of trauma children experience when entering emergency foster care by providing immediate placement at Hope Children’s Home. The program also includes comprehensive assessments, coordination of services, and youth engaged family finding through the KinConnect program.
