On Friday, November 22, 2024, FosterAdopt Connect, in collaboration with MRV Bank and Heartland Gymnastics will host the inaugural Cape Girardeau charity event: Office Chair Games.

This fundraising event offers companies and their employees a unique team-building activity and a chance to support a worthy cause. The event aims to keep foster kids safe in Missouri and Kansas and break the cycle of generational abuse and neglect.

Inspired by Japan’s Office Chair Grand Prix, this inaugural team building event will feature corporate-sponsored and individual-sponsored teams of six people each. Up to 15 teams (90 people) will compete in four unique competitions while racing backward in standard office chairs. Helmets and knee pads will be provided.

Office chair teams, sponsored by regional businesses and organizations, compete in a friendly battle for office glory by participating in a series of fun and challenging games testing their speed and agility.

The event will take place at Heartland Gymnastics.Registration starts at 4:00 pm with an ultimate party from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm. Games begin at 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. The venue will have space for the Office Chair Games and the Ultimate Office Party, which will offer fun activities, food, drinks, and entertainment for participants and spectators.

We anticipate that the Office Chair Games will be a hit in Cape Girardeau and will become the premier local philanthropic and corporate team-building event of the year.

Sponsorships are available at various levels, ranging from a single team at $300 to a presenting sponsorship at $5000.

Participants can sign up by registering and completing a participant form on our website, as well as electronically signing a participant waiver. Detailed information about the event and the four office chair competitions will be provided to participants. Helmets and knee pads will be provided at the event.
