Nearly 3 million grandparents across the country are caring for their children’s children, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. “We had one grandma who was hiding her grandchildren because she lived in 55-plus housing,” recalled Allison Gregory, executive director at Foster Adopt Connect SWMO.
To help, the folks at Foster Adopt Connect created the Kinship Navigator program. It started as a pilot program at the Kansas City office six months ago and is now available through the Springfield office. Read more at Springfield News-Leader.
